When transforming an ordinary room into a majestic festival palace or a sacred ceremonial mandap, ceiling decor plays an indispensable role. While floor rangolis and wall backdrops capture horizontal focus, it is vertical and overhead decor that commands breathtaking grandeur. In Indian traditional architecture and interior styling, hanging ceiling ornaments—affectionately known as Jumars (Jhoomars / Hanging Chandeliers)—serve as the crowning glory of celebratory spaces. For homeowners, temple trustees, and wedding decorators looking for authentic, handcrafted jumars in Chennai, C2 Sons Decoration Desk in Parrys has long been recognized as the best decoration shop in Chennai.
Centrally located at No. 113 Govindappa Naicken Street, Parrys, C2 Sons boasts Tamil Nadu's most diverse collection of traditional hanging chandeliers, lotus jumars, crystal droplets, and tiered metallic ceiling hangings. In this guide, our design team reveals how to select, style, and suspend traditional jumars to create an opulent ambiance in your living room, pooja room, or event hall.
1. The Majestic Gold Lotus & Crystal Droplet Jumar (SN27 Series)
The lotus (Kamalam) holds supreme reverence in Indian culture as the sacred throne of Goddess Mahalakshmi and Lord Brahma. Handcrafted lotus-themed ceiling jumars combine multi-layered gold-finish petals with shimmering crystal prisms that capture and reflect light in every direction.
Key Styling Features of the Gold Lotus Jumar:
- Tiered Petal Architecture: Flared golden lotus leaves arranged in concentric circles create three-dimensional depth and regal balance.
- Faceted Crystal Droplets: Prismatic acrylic and glass crystals suspended from each petal rim scatter warm illumination across ceilings and walls.
- Central Focal Point: Perfect for hanging directly beneath central ceiling fans, chandelier hooks, or over the family dining table during festival feasts.
2. Multi-Tiered Temple Bell & Filigree Jumars (SN11 Series)
Inspired by the grand brass hanging lamps of South Indian temple mandapams, tiered bell jumars feature cylindrical concentric rings lined with miniature metallic bells, pearl strands, and intricate filigree cutwork.
Ideal Spaces for Tiered Jumars:
- Pooja Room Sanctums: Suspended directly above the deity peetam or altar table to create a temple vimanam canopy effect.
- Entrance Foyers (Vaasal): Hung in the entryway vestibule to greet guests with traditional splendor as they cross the threshold.
- Staircase Wells: Elongated tiered models draw the eye upward in double-height living areas and open staircase atriums.
3. Geometric Pyramid & Contemporary Prism Jumars (SN35 & SN21 Series)
For modern apartments and contemporary event venues, fusion geometric jumars blend ancient motifs with sleek, clean architectural contours. Pyramid shapes, inverted umbrella frames, and lime-gold hexagonal chandeliers introduce a chic designer aesthetic.
Design Innovations in the 2026 Collection:
- Lightweight Aluminum & Acrylic Core: Modern engineering ensures these grand chandeliers remain lightweight (under 1.5 kg), making them safe to hang from standard adhesive ceiling hooks without drilling.
- Crystal Teardrop Fringe (SN21): High-clarity multifaceted crystals that simulate royal crystal chandeliers at a fraction of the cost and weight.
- Lime-Gold & Champagne Tones (SN46): Contemporary color options tailored to pastel wedding palettes and minimalist interior schemes.
4. Professional Lighting & Installation Tips for Ceiling Jumars
To achieve the dazzling showroom appearance seen in designer portfolios, pairing your jumar with proper illumination is paramount:
- Warm White Spotlights: Position a 5W or 7W warm-white (3000K) LED downlight directly above or beside the jumar. The focused beam ignites the golden foil and casts spectacular crystal reflections across the room.
- Pairing with Marigold Garlands: Create radial floral drapes radiating from the central jumar to the four corners of your ceiling for a royal royal canopy tent effect.
- Safe Suspension: Use heavy-duty S-hooks, nylon fish wire, or decorative brass chains to adjust drop length according to ceiling height (maintain at least 7 feet of head clearance in walkways).
